About Alec
Alec Sloane is a young composer and educator from California. As a musician, he knows the benefits of art in education, and is passionate about bringing creativity back into the lives of today’s youth. As a composer, Alec’s focus has been the creation of timbral landscapes, inspired by the pectralists, and inhabited by strong melodic characters.
He started out in music as a singer-songwriter, but discovered a love of classical music, which he pursued during his undergraduate studies. Alec has taught in both private and group settings, covering music theory, computer music composition, Guitar, Piano and Voice. As a songwriter, he has released 2 EPs in the last 2 years, and continues to perform around the Bay Area.
In 2014, Alec graduated magna cum laude from University of the Pacific’s Conservatory of Music, with a Bachelor’s of Music in Composition, with a focus in Piano. Since then, he has had his compositions performed at University of the Pacific, as well as Northwestern University, in addition to pursuing his love of teaching, and working with children.

With years of experience teaching one on one, I can offer you effective instruction in Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, or Mandolin, as well as tutoring for Theory, and private composition lessons!
